It seems as if I blinked and the time has changed so quickly I can’t even catch my breath. I am so happy to be here again posting. It has been way too long since my last post and so much life has gone by, good and bad. Happiness and sadness. I wish I could have documented it on this blog, but I will pick up here now that life has slowed down a bit and I can catch my breath again.
I have been meaning to make a cake that my dear friend Hilarie made for me when I had just delivered my second baby Ezra last year. She brought it over just a few days after Ezra had arrived, this cake soothed my soul 🙂 Later I asked her for the recipe and she was so kind to share it with me, so now I will share it with you, if you happen to be baking for a recovering mama this is the cake to bake her, believe me 🙂 Its super moist and super addictive. These pieces in the picture look big but you will understand that after eating your first bite that you will need a bigger slice .

Heat until boiling:
1 cup margarine or butter
1 cup water
3 Tblsp. Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
2 cups sugar and 2 cups of flower
Pour into cooled chocolate mixture and mix all together.
1/2 cup Buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Pour into greased jelly roll pan. Bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
Cool, then frost.
Chocolate Chip Frosting:
Melt in saucepan 7 Tblsp. margarine or butter
Add 6 Tblsp milk and 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
Stir constantly, bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute while stirring constantly.
Remove from heat, add 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Beat until smooth. Pour over cooled brownies.
